So You Think You’ve Got Spyware?
My favorite for a quick checkup is Panda’s NanoScan (www.nanoscan.com). The first time you use it you’ll have to download an ActiveX control or a plug-in, depending on whether you use Internet Explorer or Firefox. I like the way the site leads you through the setup process, letting you know what to do at each step. Only a tiny “client” program gets installed on your system—all the analysis happens at Panda’s servers. Once the control or plug-in is installed, NanoScan will scan your system for active malware in about a minute. If any of almost 900,000 threats are actually running on your system, NanoScan will find them.
