Many Internet Users Unaware of Scams
Many Americans who go online do not know much about Internet threats and scams, according to a Microsoft-commissioned study conducted by Harris Interactive in May 2007.Nearly six in 10 Internet users said they had little or no knowledge of current threats or scams. About one-fifth of online adults had been the victim of at least one Internet scam, and 81% of those people said they had helped criminals by opening suspicious e-mails and not being more careful.
