China’s Premier Says Spyware Report in Germany ‘a Grave Concern’
Reacting to reports that Chinese hackers have installed spyware in computers belonging to the German government, Chinese premier Wen Jiabao called the matter a “grave concern” and offered his government’s cooperation to resolve it, reports PCWorld.com. The German news magazine Der Spiegel reported the hacking Saturday. Jiabao made his comments Monday at a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Beijing. German security officials found trojans in computers used in several government ministries, Merkel’s office and elsewhere, Der Spiegel said. It said while the first discovery was in May, hackers continue tying to sneak spyware into government computers.
